Laboratory of Atmospheric Environment and Climate Change

We conduct research on the topic of climate change, as well as the interaction of climate with the global atmospheric environment. Our main tool is state-of-the-art Earth system models, in conjunction with cutting-edge observations, especially from satellites. Our work spans a wide range of areas, ranging from global to regional, and from anthropogenic to natural processes. Of particular interest in our research are the impacts of climate change on wildfires and the influences of wildfire-generated air pollution on climate. 

 

Specific topics that we currently study include: 

  • Modeling of climate and air pollution.
  • Anthropogenic and natural influences on climate and the atmospheric environment.
  • Fires and climate change.
  • Analysis of satellite measurements to understand the above processes.
  • Effect of air pollution on human health.
  • Use of machine learning in environmental problems.
